Love, Friendship, and Election

In John 15:12-17 Jesus commands his disciples to love one another. He encourages them to do this because they are his friends and he has chosen them to love one another. In turn, this farewell discourse is a message to us to love others because Jesus calls us his friend and because he has chosen us for this appointment.
