Create positive impact in the lives of others

Local ministry partners

Jesus modeled self-sacrificial love, and as we grow to be like Him, we are called to serve in the same way. Serving transforms our hearts, strengthens our church, and impacts our neighborhoods and the city we live in.

At Epikos, serving is about using our time, talents, and resources to partner with God in bringing His kingdom on earth. Serving is how we live out our faith and participate in God’s work.

You can help make a difference in your neighborhood and impact our city for good by serving with one of our local Milwaukee ministry partners.

Safe & Sound

SafeSound is a community-focused organization dedicated to building “safe and empowered neighborhoods”. Their mission centers on uniting multiple community stakeholders, including residents, youth, law enforcement, and local resources to improve neighborhood well-being. The organization offers support through four key areas:

  1. Neighborhood health: focusing on residents’ access to essential resources for dignified living
  2. Neighborhood safety: providing guidance on community safety resources
  3. Community resources: sharing information about events, meetings, and community involvement opportunities
  4. Youth resources: offering programming, volunteering, and events specifically for young people

Our partnership with Safe & Sound helps in facilitating our relationship with the Milwaukee Police Department.

The Milwaukee Police Department employs Community Liaison Officers to foster positive relationships between law enforcement and the community. These officers play a crucial role in addressing neighborhood concerns and promoting public safety initiatives. Community Liaison Officers assist residents with various tasks, such as:

Establishing Block Watch programs to enhance neighborhood security
Addressing long-standing nuisance issues in local areas
Providing guidance on community safety resources

They serve as a bridge between the police department and citizens, helping to build trust and facilitate communication. Community Liaison Officers are typically assigned to specific police districts, allowing them to develop a deep understanding of local issues and maintain consistent community engagement. This approach aligns with the department’s broader strategy of utilizing community partnerships to proactively address and mitigate crime and disorder.
